Fujitsu has released a new 12.1-inch netbook called PH701 that features the new Sandy Bridget Intel Core i5 processor. There are plenty of features that the PH701 different from the rest of the 12-inch netbooks out there (say, Asus 1215B). First is of course the Core i5 processor that offers much more power than any Atom or AMD processor meant for netbooks. Second is presence of fingerprint reader that is important to many business houses.
Of course, with Fujitsu, you get much better built quality. Oh, and it weighs just 1.5 kilo grams, same as other netbooks. The only complaint I have is with its display that packs 1280 x 800 pixel resolution which is less than other 12.1-inch netbooks that boast 1366 x 768 pixels.
Specs – 12.1-inch display, 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, Core i5 processor (Sandy Bridge), 500GB hard disk, 4GB DDR3 RAM, Intel HD 3000 graphics, 6-cell battery, HDMI port, 3x USB 2.0 ports, LAN port, card reader, VGA port, Kensington lock and finger print reader.
The company is yet to unveil its global launch date, but it is already on sale in Hong Kong for 2,050 dollars (15,980 HKD).
