Archos 7c Home Tablet

Archos 7c Home Tablet (HT) which was spotted over the FCC’s website few days ago has now surfaced on JR.com. This new Archos tablet runs Android operating system and features a 7-inch display packing 800 x 480 pixel resolution. For storage, you get 8GB flash storage expandable by its micro SD card slot. The specs are very much like the Archos 7 Home Tablet and Archos 70 that were released last year.

Just like other Archos tablets, it does not features Google Android Marketplace and instead comes with AppsLib market. It is interesting to note that some experienced users were able to find a way to install Marketplace on their Archos Gen 8 tablets.

Also, for some weird reason, JR states that it runs Android 2.1 operating system, not Android 2.3 as expected. That said, operating system version is not a huge deal for a typical consumer as-long-as the device works as expected. Archos will be selling it at very lucrative price tag of 200 dollars. [JR]
