Acer A500 is one of many (new) tablets by the computer hardware giant. Until now, it was shown off running Android 2.2 (Froyo) which is not exactly tailored to provide tablet experience, not now it has been spotted with more tablet-oriented Android 3.0 (GingerBread). Just like the Acer A100, it comes with Acer’s Clear-Fi app, Netflix, Lumiread (eReader app) and Zine Reader. Again, just like A100, it is powered by the Nvidia Tegra 2 (250) dual core processor.
Folks at notebookitalia were able to spend some time with the Italian version (US version is not going to be any different) and it appears that it comes with some custom software that runs on top. This software allows you arrange games, multimedia, books and other content.
Acer A500 will be called Acer A501 in US and will be offered by AT&T in Q2, 2011. Acer A501 is essentially same as A500 but also adds a 4G radio for faster on-the-move Internet experience. [via notebookitalia] (Italian)
